Simple Dove Tattoo
While minimalist, it is effective as a tattoo. I love the simple lines and graceful design.

Gabriel Dawe
So beautiful and subtle. Located in Como, Italy for miniartextil. I can only imagine how lovely it is in person, from every angle and during all sorts of lighting situations.

Dutch Tilts Film Poster Exhibition
I posted one for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind many many months ago, and have found more! These are some beautiful, hand crafted takes on movie posters, each more beautiful and engaging than the next. Really, it's refreshing to take it as an art form, rather than just cobbling together headshots to make up a promotional material.

Watercolour Tattoo
Such a neat tattoo, I love the watercolour effect all up and down the arm with the stark butterfly up on top.

Handmade Leather Goods
An example of some beautiful handmade leather goods. As he describes it, it's all hand put together, one at a time, with some simple tools. Unique and yields some simple and functional designs. In the day of cheap consumer goods, it's fantastic to see that time and effort is still being put into making some of these items.

Love Bird Card
Too cute, I still have a thing for these bird cards. Simple line drawings are sometimes the best things.

Miniature Worlds, Catherine Nelson
Truly amazing, these are part of her "Future Memories" series, she puts together these worlds using hundreds of photographs. There are so many layers of depth in this composition, I couldn't imagine how it would look like in person. Simply wonderful.

Beautiful concept art from classic Disney movies. I love looking at some of the ideas that lead to the final design. More examples following the link.

Colourful Piano Stairs
Fun colours in Beirut, inspired by music. Never a bad idea to add some colour and life to the general everyday parts of the city.

An Exercise in Black and White
I'm travelling next week for a conference and I'm thinking it's a good idea to get back into having a sketchbook everywhere I go. Just having a pen and paper is great to explore ideas. I have been recently reading Creative Workshop, so I'm going to start doing some of those challenges in the next little while to brush up on my design skills and acquire some new ones.

The Lomocraft Exhibition
This looks simply amazing. What an interesting way to present the history of lomography. I love how utterly detailed it is, I wonder how long it took to put this together? In either way, big kudos to the artist behind this!

Piano to Birds
Love this take on a movie poster... now what is this and who are they? Perhaps a movie or musicians, so now to go look for the answers...

Project 365: Day 251
Friday was a day that might have been a bit slow going to start as it was a bit cold and dreary, but we ended up taking a walk after the fog cleared and it was a beautiful day after all. Had the opportunity to walk to MacDonald Island in the afternoon to check out the colours and the newest pieces in the community art gallery.
I even got to snap a picture of the Snye for the end of summer, just before the fall colours set in. I think I'll have to take another walk in the next two weeks to catch the fall colours before everything falls off the trees!

Re-imagining Disney Posters
A fun project that I found where artist's have re-imagined what the Disney movie posters would look like. I think they did a great job, and captured the essence of the movies in a way that was simple and striking.

Corporate Branding
A great looking thesis on corporate branding, likely on it's fundamentals, typical characteristics and really what makes something recognizable and then applying it to his packaging to his thesis.
We're surrounded by brands every day, it's hard for you not to know on a glance whether something is Coca-Cola or Starbucks by colour or shape.

1 Litre Water
I admit, I'm probably the first one who would buy a beverage based on its looks, rather than it's contents. This has happened with many a bottle of wine, hah!
A great post found here, with some interesting and memorable beverage packaging designs. I would probably buy some of these if I came across them on the store, particularly this 1 litre water.
