Project 365: Day 121

The challenge today was something that makes me sad, and really it is a bit of a depressing way to end a photo challenge.

There was a terrible accident on Highway 63 on Friday, with 7 people dying. There are so many thoughts and my heart breaks for the boy that survived while the rest of his family did not, and the man that survived where his wife and his unborn child did not. Words really do escape me and the community here is in mourning. I can't help but think about it as it reminds me too much of when my uncle died in a similar type accident last year and hits so close to the heart. I'm doing the same as I did then, just reading and reading about it, but I still don't want to believe it and that it really didn't happen.

Black Painted Bricks

Great way to bring some interest to a shelf if you have an exposed wall. I love how they painted the brick and it serves as a dark and textured background in the shelf. I would do it myself!

Gold Buttoned Blazer

While I don't usually wear a lot of gold, I do love the buttons on this blazer! Great to dress up some jeans or just to wear around the office.

Project 365: Day 120

The challenge today was circles. This was probably a particularly easy challenge for me, as circles are something that I'm quite attracted to, particularly in jewelry! Here is a part of my collection of circular pieces that I own, and range from a variety of materials.

Project 365: Day 119

The challenge of the day revolved around 1:00pm. As it was a Saturday, and I was expecting company, I was in the middle of baking a cake! This is the in progress cake that is cooling on the counter and the base consists of a brown sugar and chocolate marble batter.

Spring White Tops and Coral Pants

So very cute and spring that I'm craving to do some shopping this weekend...! Love the crisp and spring flavoured outfit worn by Lauren Conrad here.

Campomaggi Leather

Beautiful patina, and just looks so well loved and used. I'm sure as it ages, it will love just lovely.

Project 365: Day 118

Today's challenge was somewhere I went today. Being a workday, the obvious place is work! Complete with slightly orange walls, photo and desk setup. While this is my coat, this isn't my desk! I tend to spread out and take space at work when it's unused ;)

Little Vintage Vespa

I love this vintage aqua Vespa, just so nostalgic feeling with chips of good memories. One of my friends and I were joking that we should get scooters while we are here, but I think I would be terrified of hitting one of the many deep potholes here!

Good Morning Beautiful, Good Morning Handsome

Love these, and it's pretty much what we say to each other every day. Must keep them in mind for later =)

Project 365: Day 117

For today's challenge of black and white, I decided to look for some interesting patterns. When I hadn't found any today as I was in the office, all I had to do was look up! I work in an open concept office with exposed ceilings and it made a great contrasted black and white. Considering my challenge for next month's photos is to be in black and white. Thoughts?

Twine Inspired White Lights

I love the playfulness of these light fixtures. Just airy, bouncy and fun and I like how there isn't just one and that in many angles they just play against one another.

Modern Office and Guestroom

Bernal Heights Home Office modern home office

I'm seriously looking at a configuration like this as I've got a great window to work with. I love the minimalist floating white shelves and the great little couch that doubles as a futon in the guest room.

Project 365: Day 116

Today's challenge was looking down and I was at the office the most today. Funny how my Clarks desert boots are making an appearance again so soon! Two things strike me when I took a photo liked this - 1) my left boot is lighter than my right boot and 2) there are always days when my feet feel huge and then some days they look tiny! I wear a size 5.5 to 6, so while they aren't tiny, they aren't big either!

Garden Home

A perfect, little peaceful home. Just so sweet!

Yellow Maxi Skirt

I really love the feel of it - so bright, pretty and swishy!

Project 365: Day 115

Today's challenge is what I'm grateful for. Today is for the fact that I am reasonably healthy, mobile and active and that I should never take it for granted that I can do simple things like walk.

Dual Office Workstation Configuration

Summer Gardens modern home office

Good way to make more working space in an irregular shaped office. Gives some privacy, and lots of storage options!

DIY Handwritten Lampshade

I love how she decided to write a little letter for her son on his lampshade. Easy to do, and a nice personal touch to the room.

Project 365: Day 114

Today's challenge is vegetable, and this week I had bought baby tomatoes to snack on! Just love the pop of colour against my little blue rice bowl.

"Ring" Alarm Clock

Now here's a neat concept with a simple design, an alarm clock that slips over your finger and vibrates to wake you up at your set time. The nice feature is that couples can discretely get up in the morning and not disturb the other with audio alarms, and would be great for those who are visually or hearing impaired as well!

Upcycled Coffee Table

Great lighting to highlight this rustic table. Great size and just unique enough to give a room some flair.

Project 365: Day 113

The challenge today was the last thing that I bought. These are my grey leather Clarks desert boots that I bought a few weeks ago. I have ben moving towards a more menswear style in the last few months and this is just a great addition for the in between weather and to match some of my black slim fit pants for the office. These have been great and super comfortable to boot!

Project 365: Day 112

The challenge for this day was bottle, and after some thinking I grabbed this lovely bottle out of the pantry. A Sigura Viudas that has been living there for some time, waiting for a special occasion! Loved the little metal detailing on this bottle that made it unique and stand out for us.

Project 365: Day 111

So I'm a bit late and also have not been able to keep up with the project, but wanted to finish the challenge and produce the photos to continue the year.

The challenge was something that I drew, and unfortunately I do not have my previous sketchbooks, or they are buried under any number of books. So the pen and another book came out. It has been a while, and reminded me that I need to just scribble more often!

Elfa Walnut Master Closet Space

I think if we ever get a chance to design our own closet spaces, this would be the ideal way to go. Open, and everything is out so you know what you have all the time. Too often I have things that sit in the closet for ages, isn't aired out and when I find it again, I don't really want to wear it again. This is a beautifully organized space with some hidden and mostly open storage.

Little Elephant Bracelet

Adding to the collection of wrist-raff, I think this cute little elephant would make an excellent addition!

Dove White Ink Tattoo

While I'm not sure how well white ink would work on my skin tone, I do love how subtle and sketch feeling this tattoo comes across. Something a little bit more private, perhaps more personal.

Grey, Black & White Kitchen

Very modern and elegant. I love the high pitched ceiling with the skylights, the open feel of the kitchen, and that giant island!

My Valentine - Paul McCartney

Beautiful black and white music video that I stumbled upon this morning by Paul McCartney. Featuring the lovely Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp as they perform the song in sign language.

Feather Waxed Bracelet

Lovely and subtle design, and can be worn with a variety of other bracelets without being too intrusive. I think the stacking of bracelets has been coined a few different terms lately, including wrist-raff and arm party!

Project 365: Day 110

Today's challenge was orange, and I did have the best of intentions to capture the bright orange walls that colour half of my office, but just never got to it today.

Today there was a lunch farewell for a friend and colleague of 4 years and some. When I stumbled upon this quote by Audrey Hepburn, I thought it was quite apt given the day and the circumstances. Whether she knows it or not, she captures this essence, and it does her well not only in her professional environment, but also in her personal life. I'm going to miss my friend, but for her great personality, she will be a superstar wherever she goes and will succeed in everything that she puts her mind to.

Unstructured Walls

I love the feel of having so many pieces up on the wall that fit together but not. If only I could bear with putting so many holes in my wall, but I don't think where I live now is the right place to do it. Perhaps in the next, complete with an bulletin board for ideas that change all the time!

Steve Madden Boots

Still on the hunt for a perfect pair of brown boots. These ones by Steve Madden seem nice and versatile, great for spring or fall! Unfortunately, my Bata boots have pretty much worn through the heel. Darn roads and weather here have not been good to them at all this winter, sigh.

Project 365: Day 109

Today's challenge was hair. A typical day would be down straight like this with a little Morrocan Oil and a blowdryer to keep the frizz at bay. My hair is slightly wavy and super fine - while there is lots, I always seem to be losing hair and it's just not that thick overall. Makes it a challenge to style as it doesn't hold styles very well and is very flyaway. I am trying to do a bit more with my hair these days, and welcome any tips any readers may have!

Aqua Coach Bag

Loving this teal Coach bag that just signals Spring! Caught my eye as I was browsing and it's just perfect for the coming months as we finally get leaves on the trees!

Gucci Ombre Leather Brogues

Is it bad that I want to own a pair of these brogues? I love the menswear style, sleek city look and the hint of colour that these give off. Maybe one day, if I can bear to afford them...

Project 365: Day 108

Today's challenge was something you don't like. As soon as I walked out the door, I knew! This snow that fell last night, sparkling in the bright sun and blue sky! Granted, the snow did not last the day, but I'm just ready for it to be spring!

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa

Absolutely love this dress. Every time I see it, I sigh. It's the sparkling nature of it on this black backdrop that reminds you of the stars and the milky way, all coupled with the hollywood glamour that is embodied in the cut and shape of this dress.

Bathroom Spaces in Grey

Adding storage to bathrooms doesn't mean forgoing style or elegance. I think this was particularly well done, adding some personal touches, and much needed storage space to an otherwise stark bathroom.

Project 365: Day 107

Today's challenge is flowers, and luckily the husband brought some home yesterday. It snowed a fair bit out there today, don't think there is much in the way of blooms or buds! Nice and cheery for these lovely flowers compared to the outside!

Do What You Love Everyday!

While I'm still struggling with this, I am hoping that every day that I am getting closer to this ideal. It's hard work, but in the end it will be worth it!

Project 365: Day 106

Today's challenge was sunset, and I think I made it even harder by staying in the downtown, which is in a valley! The colours weren't as vibrant as I was hoping, I guess I just missed the sweet spot of picture taking this evening. Though, as you can see by the ice still on Borealis Pond, it was a bit chill this evening and my hands were freezing by the time I was done!

Wide Open Living

How beautiful, I love the light fixtures and the soaring ceilings! I probably could sit here and read a book for hours...

Project 365: Day 105

The challenge was "how you feel today", which was a bit of a hard one to say the least. I guess the best way to describe my mood today is grey. It didn't help that it was cloudy and snowing today as well, sometimes it feels like the warm weather is so far away with the branches on the trees still so bare. Today's picture is the best representation I could come up with, a little dark, cloudy and uncertain.

Stripes and Burnt Orange

I like how she uses two layers of stripes and brings the outfit together with these burnt orange pants. It's great for transitional weather where you can't really just wear a short sleeve shirt out. In any event, I'm still on the hunt for a pair of coloured pants for work!
