Baby Grand Room
I see images like this and sigh. I imagine sometimes that I could have the luxury of having my own room with a baby grand piano in it. So beautiful and I could spend hours in a place like this.

NPR - Tiny Desk Concerts
I discovered Tiny Desk Concerts the other day and can't stop clicking through to listen to them! It's a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon, that's for sure.
This one I loved and includes my favourite cellist, Yo-Yo Ma. It's amazing what you can do when you put some of these musicians together in a room - these varying backgrounds and styles come together in some amazing ways in this video.

Ingrid Michaelson - Blood Brothers
More new music this week, this time after listening to Gotye's Youtube Orchestra for Someone that I Used to Know I followed through and gave her a listen.

Kishi Bashi - Manchester (Live)
Stumbled upon this artist the other day and he's just too good not to share. Kaoru Ishibashi has a beautiful voice and uses the violin to create simple but complex layers in this piece.

Project 365: Day 246
Time to play a bit of catch up, as I have had the in-laws in town for the past week. Still taking pictures, but they just have to be processed!
Sunday was spent in Edmonton and with the morning at the Muttart Conservatory. I didn't know you could have so many varieties of one type of flower! This was followed by a short stroll on Whyte Avenue, followed by the Symphony Under the Sky concert by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra featuring Louise Pitre for Broadway Showstoppers. Quite the performance - I think we all enjoyed it!
While the morning was quite dreary and rainy, it was quite beautiful by the time we went for the outdoor show at Hawrelak Park. Ah, changeable Alberta skies!

Project 365: Day 235
Listening to Holst's The Planets Suite tonight and having the visualizer playing on the monitor while I do some reading. I've always liked the iTunes visualizer the best since being a university student, and it was very appropriate that it was very cosmically shaped tonight, with the planets and the star trails dancing across the screen. Two more days until the weekend!

Project 365: Day 215
Stereo silence for a couple days until my computer comes back from the shop for an intermittently working power supply. Likely no Project 365 posts until after the weekend.

Piano Hands
Just dancing along the black and white - I love watching people play piano, it's just so graceful. I should get to doing it more often. I can't believe it has been almost 20 years since I started playing!
I always had comments about my hands, since apparently I have "piano hands" - long and slender fingers! However, even people with tiny hands can be fantastic pianists and I've met a few on my journey through life!

My Valentine - Paul McCartney
Beautiful black and white music video that I stumbled upon this morning by Paul McCartney. Featuring the lovely Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp as they perform the song in sign language.

Leaning Clarinet
Love the movement and the flare in this sculpture. Sometimes it's what we want instruments to do is make the music dance and sway. By Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

Copper Guitar Pick
An interesting gift for a guitarist. Perhaps not to use, as it is a copper piece, but to keep in their pocket to remind themselves of why they love the craft.

Funnel Wall
This is a wall that plays music when it rains, how neat is that? I would love little melodies to float around me while the rain is falling. However, at night... maybe not so much? Located at the Kunsthofpa

Louis XV - Steinway & Sons
Beautiful, I can only imagine the rich sounds that it would produce. I would love one of these in my home one day.
