Having a hard time with some sweets, so weaning towards something more healthy. Mandarin oranges and a piece of dark chocolate for the evening.

Coffee Swirl
Absolutely wanting a coffee today...one thing that is a downside of moving to the new office is the lack of viable coffee places to go to!

Project 365: Day 309
A Sunday full of running around - I was very glad to get that extra hour this morning to rest! The day consisted of a sound breakfast, the gym, painting, picking up some boxes, more painting, and baking!
I had the rest of a pumpkin sitting in my fridge, so I decided to try something new. Boiled it, pureed it up, and made these pumpkin cinnamon rolls, recipe courtesy of the Smitten Kitchen. This picture is during its 2nd rise, but they are now baked, drizzled with icing and ready to go. My condo smells heavenly right now, can't wait to share them at the office tomorrow!

Project 365: Day 308
Company came over for supper tonight, and I had the pleasure of cooking a Chinese meal for them. However, the husband suggested a non-Chinese dessert in the form of apple crumble, and look what happened! It was delicious, and probably one of the only baked goods that look just as good uncooked as it does cooked!
Photographing Food
Some beautiful pictures and thoughts about what goes behind taking photos of food. Sometimes it's not just about the food but where it comes from too!

Project 365: Day 306
One of my favourite comfort foods - pan fried dumplings! Seemed appropriate on this cold and grey day... especially since I found out that I had to go into the office on Friday after all. Oh well, soon there will be a trip!

Project 365: Day 302
A cold and wintery day calls for a hearty beef stew and homemade bread. This is one of my husband's favourites, the english muffin loaf. It's got a great crusty exterior and a chewy centre that is similar to an english muffin.
Spent part of the afternoon with some girls at the trade show, then came home to do some painting and cleaning. Getting things all put together at home, as some changes are coming!

Project 365: Day 299
Baking on Thursday night, all to greet our move to the other office on today! Sweet smelling, and quite tasty too. Followed this cranberry oatmeal recipe from Food.com and I'd say it was a winner. Very chewy and dense, though I would probably cut back on the sugar just a little bit.

The Benefits of Drinking Coffee
Definitely needing caffeine this morning after a late night. Really, coffee is just simply delicious and warm.

Project 365: Day 289
Tea, chocolate and a harddrive. Not a super exciting evening, but busy as I run around doing some things. On a plane again in the morning and back in the evening. Going to be a long day!

Grilled Sandwiches
Never a good sign when I'm craving food like this! Warm comfort food for the fall. Bacon, cheese and mushrooms... I think I'm going to have to make one of these this weekend.

Project 365: Day 266
Had a short walk to return some things, get a coffee then the fantasy hockey pool draft in the afternoon. Comfort food was what was called for in the evening, with a delicious beef stir fry by the husband. He's really getting good at this!

Project 365: Day 262
Another day, another experimental dish. Used a buffalo sauce with ground pork to make a taco filling. Turned out pretty decent and tasty, especially paired with the tortillas I made earlier in the week!

Project 365: Day 261
I must admit, there are many times that I buy things solely based on the packaging that it comes in. This would be one of them, but it has been great balsamic vinegar that I use on my salads in my bid to eat more healthy these days.

Project 365: Day 259
My cat is female, she loves her shoes and purses and will find any opportunity to make a bed from them. Today was one of those days where she was pretty much glued to this purse that was sitting on the ottoman. I'm not sure why it was so attractive to her today!
A bit of a slow Saturday, but I did manage to try my hand at making homemade tortillas following this recipe, with a substitution of butter for lard. They turned out pretty well, though I may have cooked them a bit long at first as the first few were pretty stiff. Adjusting the cooking time towards the end had them coming up just right, so I guess it's just a matter of practicing my technique! Probably will try with whole wheat flour the next time around for another option. I think I've managed to eliminate the need to buy most of our bread products. Next up is bagels!

Project 365: Day 252
I went back to catch a few winks after being at the airport early on Saturday, then was given my breakfast in bed! It was indeed quite the lazy Saturday.

Project 365: Day 245
Nothing like a hot bowl of bbq pork noodles after a long drive. I wish we had a T&T where we lived, I miss this food so much!
Going to be intermittent with Project 365 posts as I will be out of town. Hoping to get some good snaps this weekend!

Project 365: Day 240
A bread baker's best friend is an instant thermometer. At least that is what I've told myself since I started baking bread. I haven't had an undercooked loaf since I started using one, and it's great for other food prep as well. Sometimes it's pretty tough to know if it's done, especially when you have a multi-grain or other additional ingredients beyond your standard white loaf.
Baking a few loaves for the week and the kitchen smells heavenly right before bed!

Project 365 Day 237
It's finally Friday! It's been super busy, and I alway seem famished when I leave work. Here's my typical snack for the week, a few crackers, cheese, pistachios and raisins. Not too creative, but it does the job!
Gearing up for a short weekend that is full of some side projects and hopefully some downtime.

Bakery Dreams
When I see images like these, I dream about opening up a small bakery and coffee shop and do a photography and design business on the side.
